  • WE DID IT!

In October, Green Trees was given an extraordinary challenge.

A wonderful anonymous donor offered Green Trees Early Learning Center a unique fundraising

opportunity. She pledged $25,000 to support the center’s operations, structuring the gift as a

matching challenge intended to motivate Pike County community members to help Green Trees

raise an additional $25,000 by the end of the year.

We did it! We met the $25,000 Challenge!

Over only 10 weeks, our friends, small businesses, and community organizations united together
and raised more than $30,000 in support for Green Trees Early Learning Center. We are beyond thrilled to have met the Challenge and beyond grateful for the generosity of our community members.
The support from our community will empower Green Trees to keep our doors open to the wonderful children in our community as well as the hard-working Pike County families who
need our services to survive and thrive. Support is being used for operations, equipment,
classroom supplies and scholarship support for children in need. Every gift will have long-lasting
impact.

At Green Trees, we value each and every one of our supporters and deeply appreciate all of the help that we are given.

We know that you have a lot of choices when it comes to donating, and we are all so grateful that

you chose to support Green Trees. We feel fortunate to live in such a caring community where

those who have the means are ready and willing to lend a hand to those who need support. There

is nothing more powerful than friends and neighbors coming together to give the gift of

education and care to children.

But there is still work to do. While our immediate challenge is met, the challenges our
working families face are not over.

We are so grateful for the support from our community, but the work continues at Green Trees.

Donations help us serve the working families who need us most. More than 60 percent of Green

Trees families take part in programs that provide free or low-cost care for income-eligible

participants. They need our support.

Serving children in our center means peace of mind for our working parents. They know that

their children are in a safe and engaging learning environment while they are working hard to

make a better life for themselves and their families.

The Work of Green Trees is Critical for the Working Families of Pike County.

Green Trees childcare services are critical in Pike County. The non-profit center educates more than 100 children each year from ages 6 weeks through 12 years old and serves children 10 hours a day and 12 months a year. The state rates Green Trees a Keystone STAR Four Center, the highest designation for early-learning centers in Pennsylvania.

We humbly ask for your ongoing support to continue our important work far into the
future.

Every dollar has impact and every gift is deeply appreciated. To make a contribution to Green Trees Early Learning Center, please visit our fund at the Greater Pike Community Foundation.
