Green Trees Early Learning Center
Celebrating 40 years of cultivating strong roots in early childhood education
  • Happy 40th Anniversary Green Trees!

That’s right! It’s our anniversary. Green Trees has been serving the
children and working families of Pike County for 40 years!

Over our 40 wonderful years, we have educated and cared for more than 3,000 amazing children and provided them with a safe and engaging learning environment to learn, grow and thrive.

We have supported countless working families by providing convenient and affordable childcare services. We give our families peace of mind, knowing that their children are in a safe and engaging learning environment while they are working hard to provide for their families.

Our mission, and our commitment to our community, is that we continue to provide critical childcare services to our most
valuable assets – the extraordinary children and the working families who love and support them every day.

We are so proud of our work at Green Trees. And there is so
much to be proud of!

Green Trees is the oldest licensed Early Learning Center in Pike County and we have educated more than 3,000 children over our 40 years.

Green trees has always prioritized meeting the needs of Pike County’s working families by providing affordable care for the families who need us most and we prioritize that mission today. As a non-profit organization, we take that commitment very seriously.

Green Trees is a Keystone STAR Four Center which means that we have been awarded the highest designation from the state of Pennsylvania for Early Childhood Education Centers.

Our Teachers and Educators are Extraordinary.

We proudly employ 25 educators and staff from Pike County and some have been with us for more than 20 years! One amazing teacher

started with us the day we opened our doors 40 years ago.

Our teachers are the best of the best. All our educators hold required Pennsylvania certifications and many hold associate and bachelor’s degrees. We provide educators with ongoing opportunities for training, coaching and professional development in early childhood education and child safety each year.

We are, and always have been, committed to the children and
families in our community.

 We serve children each year from ages 6 weeks through 12 years old and we are open year-round. We provide care for up to ten hours a

day from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm in our infant, young toddler, older toddler, pre-kindergarten, wrap around school age care and summer camp

 programs.

 Green Trees provides affordable care for families in need. More than 65% of Green Trees working families participate in free or low-

cost childcare for income-eligible participants.

 We partner with critical community organizations to help support families who are victims of abuse, suffer from food insecurity, and we proudly work with military organizations to connect families with early childhood education.

Green Trees was founded because of a critical community need: educating children and supporting working families in Pike County.

Green Trees Early Learning Center was founded in 1985 in the Good Shepherd Church in Milford to meet the need of working families in our community.

In 2017 Green Trees saw the opportunity to expand to serve more children and families in our county. It was that same year that Green Trees moved to our current home in the Historic Muir House on Route 2001 right across from our good friends, the American Legion.

Children from the first graduating in 1985 are now in their forties! Wow!

We are so grateful for the love and support we have been given from our community over the years.

We have forged partnerships in our community with so many critical and impactful organizations who have supported us on this important journey serving children and families over the years.

Just last year, hundreds of community members, organizations, business owners, friends, and volunteers pulled together to help Green Trees keep our doors open during a very challenging time.

We love our community, and we love the support and kindness everyone has shown us.

Thank you, Pike County!

Although our work is critical, we struggle to keep our doors open.

Like so many small non-profits, we struggle financially. We survive on funding from grants, tuition payments and the generous donations of our community members.

More than 65 percent of Green Trees families take part in programs that provide free or low-cost care for income-eligible participants. They need our support and we need your help to be able to survive and thrive. Donations help us keep our doors open to continue serving the working families who need us most in our community.

We feel fortunate to live in such a caring community where those who have the means have been ready and willing to lend a hand to those who need support. There is nothing more powerful than friends and neighbors coming together to give the gift of education.

We humbly ask for your support so that Green Trees can continue our important work another 40 years.

We know that you have a lot of choices when it comes to making contributions and we are grateful that you are considering a donation to support Green Trees. We value each and every one of our supporters and friends and we truly appreciate all the help we are given.
